On-site Coordinator

A native of Long Beach, CA, Brande began working as a grassroots fundraiser and organizer while in grad school, where she soon realized the magic of linking bands and music and the causes they cared about with their fans. Since then, she has worked with thousands of volunteers across the United States and Europe, and estimates that she has helped sign up about 750,000 fans for environmental and global health related campaigns in that time. At some point along the way – the details are fuzzy, it was a long time ago! – she crossed paths with REVERB and has been partnering with them ever since!

Brande has also been an educator and facilitator for over twenty years. When not on the road in the summer, she is a lecturer in American Studies at California State University Long Beach, where she teaches classes on pop culture & media, California & Los Angeles history, and the cultural history of surfing. She also has created community gardens, and hosts workshops & programs for K-12 youth in schools and community centers in the greater L.A. area, working with local groups via her small non-profit, Living Histories.

Recently, she has been leading cultural and historic walking tours of downtown Los Angeles (nobodywalksin.la) and, as a lifelong road tripper and lover of photography, hiking, and wide open spaces, has taken up astrophotography. Her top three favorite outside places are Joshua Tree, Yosemite, and Crystal Cove state park.
