TOUR GREENING AND SUSTAINABILITY

The Road to Zero-Waste

Dave Matthews Band, their management team at Red Light, and REVERB are teaming up with Live Nation‘s operated venues to minimize the concert’s footprint—with the goal to divert at least 90% of fan-generated waste from landfills. Efforts include:

  • Zero-waste stations to collect disposable items
  • Onsite green teams hand-sorting all concert waste
  • Menus featuring HOMEGROWN by Farm Aid food items
  • Minimal single-use plastics in concessions
Waste Reduction
  • Reducing or eliminating single-use plastic bottles and cups backstage
  • Reusable water bottles for artists and crew
  • Reusable or compostable service ware in catering and on buses
  • Water refill stations throughout backstage area, catering, and on tour buses
Waste Diversion
  • Recycling: Backstage, in offices and catering, and on tour buses
  • Battery reclamation and recycling: Collecting dead batteries for recycling and donating batteries with remaining power to people in need
  • Toiletry donations: Collecting unused toiletries from hotel stays and donating to local food security organizations
Additional Steps
  • Green cleaning products for backstage, offices, catering, and tour buses
Addressing Carbon Emissions
  • Calcuulating and neutralizing CO2 emissions from band and crew travel, shipping, gear transport, hotel stays, venue energy usage, and more through vetted climate projects
