REVERB VOLUNTEER ROLES AT LOLLAPALOOZA:
PROGRAM BASICS
Availability: Volunteers who are available for a shift each day of the Festival weekend are selected first. A typical shift is about 4 hours each day during the Festival show days: July 30, July 31, August 1, and August 2, 2026.
Shift Times: When completing the volunteer application, volunteers will select a morning, afternoon, or evening shift. Volunteers will submit an application for each day that they’d like to volunteer and attend.
TEAMS:
FILLING STATION TEAM
REVERB Filling Station volunteers work at tented water stations to keep fans hydrated and reduce single-use plastic at the Festival. REVERB volunteers welcome fans, keep lines moving, and answer questions about the Festival’s sustainability programs.
ROCK & RECYCLE TEAM
The Rock & Recycle Program allows fans to earn a free custom Lollapalooza t-shirt by collecting recyclables around the venue. Fans can visit Rock & Recycle HQ or roaming Rock & Recycle volunteers to pick up special bags to fill with recyclables. Patrons returning filled bags will earn a collectible t-shirt! Volunteers answer questions about the Rock & Recycle Program at HQ and, as roamers, educate fans on diverting waste from the landfill.
DIVERT IT! TEAM
The Divert It! Program is essential to the Festival’s sustainability efforts. REVERB volunteers are stationed at waste receptacles, assisting fans in selecting correct waste streams (compost, recycling, trash) when tossing their trash and making it fun!
BIKE VALET TEAM
REVERB Bike Valet volunteers check in, tag, and organize bikes for patrons who take advantage of Lollapalooza’s free bike valet service! Could require heavy lifting.
AMBASSADOR HEADQUARTERS TEAM
REVERB Ambassador HQ volunteers greet REVERB volunteers, check IDs, verify each volunteer has checked in for their shift, and/or add notes as needed. The goal is to accurately register everyone and quickly get them on their way!
Other duties include distributing t-shirts, answering questions, keeping HQ clean and organized, replenishing supplies, etc. Could require light lifting.
BOX OFFICE/GREETERS TEAM
REVERB Greeters are posted at and near the Festival entrances, box office, ticketing help desks, or at designated spots around the park to greet and help direct fans. Fans have questions as they enter, so this REVERB team needs to study the Festival FAQs, have a good sense of direction, and quickly learn and communicate any breaking information.
MEDIA ASSISTANT TEAM
REVERB Media Assistant volunteers help run the media check-in tent, which is full of media representatives from across the country and the world. REVERB volunteers help organize the Media/Press guest services area, answer questions, and complete tasks as assigned. Must be professional, friendly, helpful, and organized, and be able to respond to inquiries about REVERB in a professional manner.
This team requires the highest caliber of REVERB volunteers to represent the Festival and is especially suited to journalism or public relations majors.
KIDZAPALOOZA TEAM
The Festival is family-friendly, and Kidzapalooza is an area dedicated to the Festival’s youngest fans. REVERB Kidzapalooza volunteers help set up, assist with activities, and answer questions about Kidzapalooza in a friendly, positive, and professional manner. REVERB volunteers also answer questions about the Tag-Your-Kid service and show patrons where to sign up.
REVERB volunteers for this team must have relevant professional job experience (ex, elementary school teachers, pediatric nurses) and/or an educational degree or major focused on childhood education.
BACK UP TEAM
The Back Up Team is the “go-to” crew, stationed in Volunteer HQ. REVERB Back Up volunteers help wherever needed and fill in on any other volunteer team throughout the Festival. Requires a friendly, positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed. Could require light lifting.
BENEFITS
- REVERB volunteers get a t-shirt to wear while volunteering and take home afterward.
- Prior to or after completing an assigned shift, REVERB volunteers may spend the rest of the day enjoying the Festival.
- There will be other perks just for REVERB volunteers, such as snacks and refreshments.
HOW TO APPLY
- REVERB volunteers may apply to volunteer for shifts using the application to the right. If selected, volunteers will receive a day pass for the day they work. If you’d like to volunteer for multiple days, apply for a shift for each day.
- Priority will be given to volunteers who can work multiple days.
- Please don’t apply for more than one team/shift within one day.
- If a shift is full, you will be placed on a waiting list. At that point, you may submit an additional application for another team or shift.
- Note: All REVERB volunteers must be at least 18 years of age as of July 30, 2026.
THE SELECTION PROCESS
REVERB will review all applications and assign the best candidates for available teams. If you are selected, you will receive an email with instructions on how to confirm your assignments. All assigned REVERB volunteers will be required to sign a release prior to their first shift.
Not everyone who applies will be selected as a REVERB volunteer. If you haven’t been selected or moved off the waiting list by the week before the Festival, it is unlikely you will be placed.
Please note that we anticipate a high volume of applicants for the Festival. Thanks in advance for your patience while we review and respond to applications.
