In 2013 REVERB partnered with BRITA for the Bottle-Free-Bands program. This exciting contest encouraged bands from across the country to pledge to tour ‘Plastic-Free’ and use reusable water bottles instead of singe-use plastic bottles. After fans voted for the 30 finalists Fruition String Band from Portland, Oregon won the grand prize!
On February 17th the REVERB team joined Fruition in Portland, Oregon for a day service and celebration at P:EAR Safe Space. The band and the REVERB team worked for the day deep cleaning, doing maintenance work and refurbishing the instruments for the P:EAR Music Program, P:EAR Jam. After the day of service the band set up for a free concert for the staff and clients of P:EAR to kick off the weekly P:EAR Jam program.
As a very special leave behind Fruition and REVERB connected with Carman Ranch to provide a $5000 local CSA share to provide the P:EAR kitchen with sustainably raised meats for the 2014 season. To add to the giving, the folks at BRITA donated (250) individual filter water bottles to be distributed to the homeless youth P:EAR serves.
